CCPS to utilize Clayton County recreation centers as feeding sites
for a Summer Food Program. The program will run from June 6th to July 22nd. Breakfast will be served at the Recreation Centers from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30a.m.; Lunch will be served in the Recreation Centers from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00p.m.

Clayton County Parks and Recreation Department wishes to enter into a
Memorandum of Understanding (“MOU”) with Clayton County Public Schools (“CCPS”) and grant
a Special Faculty Use Request to CCPS to utilize Clayton County recreation centers as feeding sites
for a Summer Food Program (“SFSP”) on June 6, 2022, through July 22, 2022; and
WHEREAS, CCPS responsibilities are as follows;
- Serve as a sponsor for the County’s Parks and Recreation Department whereby the
Nutrition Services Department will utilize the Recreation Centers as feeding sites for the
SSO
- Serve meals to all needy children 18 years of age and under (or persons 19 and over who
are mentally or physically disabled and participating in a public or private nonprofit
school program for the mentally or physically disabled).
- Serve meals that meet the minimum meal pattern requirements in accordance with the
following: Breakfast will be served at the Recreation Centers from 8:00 a.m. to 8:30
a.m.; Lunch will be served in the Recreation Centers from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; The
proposed menu will be provided to the Board of Commissioners two weeks prior to the
commencement of the Program

- Provide adequate supervision of the actual meal service
- Ensure program compliance with all district, state and federal regulations; and
WHEREAS, Clayton County on behalf of Clayton County Parks & Recreation department
responsibilities are as follows:
- Pick up breakfast and lunch meals from designated CCPS sites within 30mins of meals
service
- Allow children 18 years of age and under, as well as those persons 19 years of age and
over who meet the State of Georgia agency’s definition of mentally or physically
disabled, from the community to participate in the Program during the time periods
indicated above.
- Provide adequate supervision of the facility during the meal service
- Maintain and submit such reports and records that CCPS requires
- Report any other problems regarding the meal services; and
WHEREAS, entering into this MOU will ensure that all Parks and Recreation campers
receive free Breakfast and free Lunch; and
WHEREAS, the Board deems it in the best interest of the County and the County will best
be served by approving the special use facility request and entering into the agreement for the stated
purposes.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
OF CLAYTON COUNTY, GEORGIA AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED
Section 1. The Board of Commissioners hereby authorizes Clayton County, on behalf of
the Clayton County Parks and Recreation Department, to allow Clayton County Public Schools to
use Clayton County recreation centers as feeding sites to operate a Summer Food Service Program.
The Board further authorizes Clayton County to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with
Clayton County Public Schools for the Summer Food Service Program. The program will run from
June 6, 2022, through July 22, 2022. The Board also authorizes the Chairman to perform all acts
necessary to accomplish the intent of this Resolution.
