On Saturday, March 1, 2025, the City of Forest Park hosted its annual Dr. Seuss Day Celebration, drawing families and book lovers for a morning of engaging activities centered around literacy and creativity. Held at 696 Main Street in Forest Park, GA, the event provided free entertainment and opportunities for children to immerse themselves in the joy of reading.
The “Hats Off to Reading” program featured a dedicated Reading Corner, where attendees enjoyed classic Dr. Seuss stories. Children also participated in arts and crafts sessions led by Jonesy’s Place, creating colorful Seuss-inspired projects. Giggles and Smiles Paint delighted young visitors with face painting, adding a festive touch to the celebration.
Throughout the morning, families enjoyed games, refreshments, and interactive experiences designed to promote literacy in a fun and engaging way. A highlight of the event was a special guest appearance at 11:00 AM by Mayor Angelyne Butler, who joined the festivities alongside The Cat in the Hat himself, much to the delight of attendees.
The Forest Park Recreation & Leisure Department organized the celebration as part of its commitment to fostering a love of reading and community engagement. With a strong turnout and enthusiastic participation, the Dr. Seuss Day Celebration 2025 served as a reminder of the power of storytelling to bring people together.
