Big news for families in Clayton County! The Clayton County Office of Digital Equity is teaming up with Compudopt Atlanta to give away 200 free laptops on Monday, April 14, 2025 – but you must register by Sunday, April 13 at 11:59 p.m. to qualify!
This incredible free laptop giveaway is part of Clayton County’s ongoing mission to close the digital divide and provide local families with access to essential digital tools. The laptops are available to eligible Clayton County residents who register in time and meet a few key requirements.
“The Clayton County Board of Commissioners is committed to providing and expanding access to digital resources for our residents,” said Chief Operating Officer Detrick Stanford. “This includes affordable and reliable high-speed internet, technology, and digital skills.”
Why This Matters
With more education, work, and services moving online, having access to a reliable computer at home is more important than ever. Partnering with national nonprofit Compudopt, which proudly operates a location in Forest Park, Clayton County is making a difference—one household at a time.
“We are excited to work with organizations like Compudopt,” said Takiyah Thomas, Digital Equity Administrator. “This partnership helps us ensure that more families have the tools they need to thrive in today’s digital world.”
Who Is Eligible?
To receive a free laptop, you must:
Be a Clayton County resident
Have at least one school-aged child (K–12) living in your home
Attend the event in person on April 14, 2025
Register by Sunday, April 13, 2025, at 11:59 p.m.
Not be a Clayton County employee
Not currently own a working computer at home
Not have received a device at a past Compudopt event
