Get ready to cheer, Clayton County! Mount Zion High School’s Marching Bulldogs are about to make some serious noise in Washington D.C. They’ve been selected to perform in the National Independence Day Parade, and we couldn’t be more excited!
Circle July 4th on your calendar because this is when the nation’s capital goes all out for Independence Day. It’s a huge event with spectators from all over the country and beyond. And guess who’s going to be right in the middle of it? Yep, our very own Marching Bulldogs!
Thanks to the amazing leadership of band director Mr. Terrell Mitchell, the Marching Bulldogs have been on fire. They’ve grown from just 8 members to over 40 in less than two years! This honor is a big pat on the back for their hard work and talent.
Dr. Anthony W. Smith, the Superintendent/CEO of Schools, is beaming with pride: “This is a huge achievement for our students, band directors, and the whole Mt. Zion High School community. Their spot in the National Independence Day Parade shows just how talented and committed our district is.”
Mr. Mitchell, who’s also a proud alumnus of MZHS, can hardly contain his excitement: “We are thrilled and deeply honored to have been chosen to perform at the National Independence Day Parade. I’m very proud of our students. This is a chance for them to shine on a national stage and represent our school and community with pride.”
