Clayton County Public Schools (CCPS) is thrilled to share that the Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (AFJROTC) instructors at Morrow High School have been named Headquarters Air Force JROTC Instructors of the Year for 2024. This honor goes to Lieutenant Colonel Raymond King and Chief Master Sergeant Robert Walker, as announced by Mr. Kent D. Davis, Regional Director of Air Force ROTC.
Mr. Davis highlighted in his announcement that Morrow High School is the only Air Force JROTC unit out of 61 in Georgia to offer the AS-500 Aviation Honors Ground School. This demanding course is for top-notch cadets aiming to get their private pilot's license and pursue careers in aviation.
He also mentioned that the unit received an "EXCEEDS Standards" rating in this year's Headquarters Unit Evaluation. Mr. Davis praised Lieutenant Colonel King and Chief Master Sergeant Walker for embodying the core values crucial to the Air Force JROTC mission of developing citizens of character.
Dr. Anthony W. Smith, CCPS Superintendent/CEO of Schools, expressed his pride, saying, "I am delighted to congratulate Lieutenant Colonel Raymond King and Chief Master Sergeant Robert Walker on receiving this prestigious recognition from Air Force ROTC. This award is well-deserved and shows that the Morrow High School Aviation Program is top-notch in preparing our students for future success.
